It’s official! Popcorn Time is no longer a legal way to stream your movies and TV shows. It is just the latest in a long line of apps that are falling at the legality hurdle, leaving many users with no way of watching their favorite shows and movies on their devices. Except there are other ways and we’re going to discuss a few of them here.



Top Five Popcorn Time Alternatives:

There are loads of alternative streaming options and these are just five of what’s on offer:

  • Amazon Prime

Everybody has heard of Amazon but not everyone knows they offer a streaming service as part of their Prime package. With lots of Amazon originals, movies and TV series on offer, you won’t be stuck for something to watch. Be aware that a subscription is required and not all content is free.

  • Hulu

Hulu is also a well-known name offering a tin of movies and shows for free. It is web-based but compatible with Google Chromecast and it is updated with new stuff very regularly. It offers features like one-click play, HD streaming and the ability to download for watching offline.

  • Vudu

Vudu is a popular choice, with plenty of TV series, shows, and movies to choose from. Like some free apps, it does have ads but they don’t interfere and are not intrusive. You can stream in HDX and use Airplay to cast to a bigger screen.

  • Tubi TV

Tubi TV is one of the newer streaming apps and, although it is not the largest, it is experiencing rapid growth.  There are multiple genres filled with cool content, catering to all manner of preferences. While it is free, to watch anything you will need to sign up for a free account and you cannot watch offline.

And, last

  • Mediaset Play

Another free app, Mediaset Play provides access to loads of movies, including foreign-language, TV shows, series, documentaries and more. It has a restart feature so you never miss the beginning of anything and it supports casting to larger screens.

  1. Neither the popcorntime nor the others are not available. I see the app but there is not “get” button. It say not available. I think apple blocked these things
